Microsoft OneDrive - There was a problem signing you in (Error Code: 0x8004de69)

Ok its been a while since my last blog, I've been busy with delivering projects and haven't had a hole lot of free time to compile any thoughts. Except this one... I was going to keep my blog to ideas and opinions, but working on a "Nerdio manager for WVD" project for a client we hit an issue with the Microsoft OneDrive client unable to connect throwing an error (Error Code: 0x8004de69).

Yeah ok so I did what we all do and asked uncle Google, because when are you ever the first person to get an issue right? I mean come on, unless you are working on a problem with an insider build someone else has seen and fixed it!

I this rare case it became clear there was no easy answer... bugger so we are going to have to work the problem and see where we end up. (Spoiler, it was the Zscaler ZIA proxy messing with the authentication)

So I knew we could get to the web portal and authenticate ok, and all the other office apps were able to connect to M365 services ok. What is special about OneDrive in a WVD environment? Turns out, how it Authenticates. We have to get the Network / Security team to modify the custom "PAC" file to bypass OneDrive authentication.

I am waiting to see what changes need to be made specifically and will update this when I know, but as I could not find another article anywhere on this Microsoft OneDrive error I wanted to save someone else the time and offer a pointer on how to fix the Error Code: 0x8004de69.
